Mom (MIL) makes me appreciate every single day. I’m her memory and her security blanket. She is equivalent to a two-year-old right now.
The strangest part is she was mean to me for 40 years until she got Alzheimer’s.
Forgiving and caring for this woman has changed my life.

It is powerfull that you changed her meaness into love.

PS I can’t take the credit, I was just a willing vessel. I prayed Jesus would carry me through when I lost my adult son, 3 1/2 years ago, to suicide.
I had adopted an unadoptable dog a month before my son died and he got me out of bed the first few months.
He was about 14 years old and as his life was winding down, my husband asked if we could take his mother with Alzheimer’s permanently, and I said yes. That was God’s answer for me.
I could grieve at night, but I had to function all day while my husband was at work and into the early evening. I had a reason to get out of bed and to stay out of bed. The dog was too willing to take naps.
For some reason, my mother-in-law fell in love with me.
I took care of her by myself for almost 3 years but now I have a nurse coming in and my husband does her care instead of working, because of my arthritis.
